It’s been a while since my last post, but I have a kinda-sorta excuse — I’ve had an intense headache for the past 3 weeks. I tried using cold compresses, getting more sleep, drinking mint tea, and all sorts of other home remedies before finally taking some acetaminophen. But even that didn’t work. After three weeks of trying to not see a doctor and get a prescription, I finally caved.
The doctor was surprised that I lasted that long. I’ve been taking the prescription for a couple of days now and the headaches are taking a backseat. If I get them, it’s only for a couple of hours.
I know that medicine is good, and I do believe that you should take prescriptions if you need them. But sometimes it feels like you can get a prescription for anything. And sometimes the side effects outweigh the benefits.
Luckily, this current experience is not like that. I haven’t experienced any side effects, and am enjoying the absence of headache.
Why did I not want to get a prescription? Well, I have a friend who is a vegan. He shuns just about all medicines, and even went through a root canal without pain medicine. If he could do something like that, then why couldn’t I find a natural cure for my headache?
It turns out my headache was a sinus infection. I get those fairly often, but this one was different. My crazy allergies lead to these infections. And said allergies also hinder several of my attempts to be green. (DO NOT line dry your clothes if you have seasonal allergies. Definitely one of the worst decisions I ever made.)
Do you have a full-proof natural headache remedy? At least one for plain old headaches.

Avoid the sinus headache/infection all together — use a neti pot with salt walter to keep your sinuses happily clean and clear.
