Start at the beginning

Saving the environment is a big deal. It can also be daunting when trying to think about what one person can do to make a difference. Most of the green things I do are small. They make a difference to me and my family, but sometimes I think about how small my efforts really are.

According to a new effort by Prince Charles, no efforts are small. You have to start somewhere. He’s behind the new website, Start. It’s an initiative to help people in the United Kingdom become more sustainable. While the articles are certainly aimed at folks in the UK, the tips apply to most of us.

The layout is nice and clean and it’s easy to navigate.

Prince Charles isĀ also opening up the gardens at his Clarence House this weekend so people can learn more about sustainability.

Start is about the small steps that do make a difference. I like that. It’s nice to remember that when I’m wringing out diapers to hang on the line. I may not be causing huge waves, but hopefully my little ripples will make a difference.

Have you heard of Start? If you live in England, are you planning to go to the gardens?
